About Us

My name is Houston Clark, and I’m the owner of Peak to Prairie Avalanche Training. I was born and raised in Southern Alberta, where I grew up spending as much time as possible in the mountains. What started as a love for the Rockies turned into a career built around them.

For the past nine years, I’ve called Revelstoke, B.C. home, where I’ve worked in a variety of avalanche and mountain safety roles. I’m certified with the Canadian Ski Guide Association (CSGA) and currently work as an Avalanche Technician for B.C. Highways, helping keep the highways around Revelstoke open and safe throughout the winter.

I’ve also spent seven seasons as a Ski Patroller at Revelstoke Mountain Resort and have guided with Monashee Powder Snowcats. Through all of this, I’ve developed a deep respect for the mountains and a strong passion for sharing that experience with others.

I’ve been teaching Avalanche Skills Training (AST) courses for the past eight years, and recently started Peak to Prairie to offer a more personalized and engaging approach to avalanche education. My goal is to provide practical, high-quality training that helps people travel safely and confidently while recreating in the backcountry.

Whether you’re a sledder, skier, or snowboarder, I look forward to helping you build the skills for a lifetime of good decisions, great powder, and the best days in the mountains.

Thanks for checking us out,
Houston Clark

The instructing team includes myself, along with a group of active avalanche professionals—Avalanche Technicians, Search and Rescue members, guides, and Ski Patrollers. We’re all local to Revelstoke and, at heart, a bunch of powder addicts.
